The Game Awards 2023: Nominees Announcement and Gala Details
Although E3 is practically gone, players can continue to enjoy a good number of events organized by the video game studios themselves. In summer we had the Summer Game Fest event, and now it’s the turn of The Game Awards, which will be held next month.
Nominees Announcement
There is only one month left until we can meet this year’s winners, but it is best to start at the beginning. We still do not have the list of nominees, something that will change shortly given that Geoff Keighley will reveal it next week. This much-anticipated announcement will take place on Monday, November 13 at 6:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time) where all the nominees for the 30 categories of The Game Awards will be unveiled. This includes Game of the Year (GOTY) candidates, and with the great releases this year, it’s not going to be easy to leave some titles out.
The broadcast can be followed live on the official YouTube and Twitch channels of The Game Awards.
The Game Awards 2023 Gala Details
The next The Game Awards gala will take place on December 7 at the Peacock Theater (formerly Microsoft Theater) in Los Angeles. The start time is yet to be confirmed and, like the nominees announcement broadcast, the gala can be seen live on both YouTube and Twitch. Aside from meeting the winners, the gala will also provide a platform for major announcements in the industry. For example, two big announcements from last year are Death Stranding 2 and Hades 2.
Looking back to last year, God of War Ragnarok took home the most awards (six of the 11 nominations it received), while Elden Ring won the Game of the Year category.
Conclusion
As the gaming community eagerly anticipates The Game Awards 2023, the nominees announcement and the gala details are on the horizon.
