Substantial Casualties and Weaponry Losses
According to a report by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the ongoing military operation in Ukraine has resulted in significant losses for Ukrainian forces. In a detailed account of the confrontation, the Ministry claimed that over 635 Ukrainian soldiers have been eliminated. This announcement comes amid a tense and protracted conflict that has drawn international concern and condemnation.
Interception and Aerial Defense
The Ministry’s report highlighted the successful interception of armaments aimed at their forces, stating that two Himars multiple rocket launcher projectiles were intercepted by anti-aircraft defense systems. Additionally, Russian defenses reportedly shot down 42 unmanned aerial vehicles, reflecting ongoing aerial confrontations and the intensification of anti-aircraft operations.
Kupiansk and Krasny Liman Clashes
In the Kupiansk line of operations, Russian forces claimed to have repelled two attacks by Ukrainian troops near the town of Zagoruikovka, located in the Kharkiv region. An ammunition depot belonging to the Ukrainian 113th Territorial Defense Brigade was also said to have been destroyed. Russia attributed the loss of up to 40 personnel, two armored vehicles, and three pickup trucks to Ukrainian forces during these skirmishes. In addition, a counterbattery strike reportedly damaged American-manufactured М777 howitzers, two Gvozdika self-propelled artillery units, and a D-30 howitzer.
Donetsk and Southern Donetsk Engagement
Within the Donetsk area, Russian forces claimed the repulsion of five attacks from Kiev in the towns of Kurdyúmovka and Kleschéyevka. The reported Ukrainian losses include up to 250 soldiers, three armored combat vehicles, three pickup trucks, a Polish Krab artillery system, three D-30 howitzers, a D-20 howitzer, and an American М119 howitzer.
Furthermore, in the southern Donetsk operational lines, Russian aviation and artillery allegedly struck 72nd and 79th Ukrainian Airborne Assault Brigade positions near the towns of Novomikhailovka and Ugledar. More than 80 servicemen, in addition to two vehicles and a US М777 howitzer, were reported as destroyed in the day’s clashes.
Zaporozhye Front-line Developments
Turning to the Zaporozhye operational line, Russian forces have stated they delivered a strike against the Ukrainian 33rd Mechanized Brigade in the vicinity of the town of Rabótino, with claims of up to 55 soldiers killed and destruction of two cars and two armored vehicles.
Kherson Operational Line
In Kherson, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed casualties of over 60 soldiers, dead and wounded, as well as the destruction of a tank, three vehicles, three trucks, and an Msta-B howitzer.
Overall Equipment and Personnel Losses
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the cumulative totals since the onset of the military operations include 534 Ukrainian military aircraft, 254 helicopters, 8,871 drones, and 441 anti-aircraft missile systems destroyed. They have also reported the destruction of 13,358 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,183 multiple rocket launcher systems vehicles, 7,071 field artillery guns and mortars, and 15,207 special military vehicles.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to yield substantial military action and consequent destruction.
