Nicaragua Backs Palestinian Leader Following Israel’s ‘Aggression’

Nicaragua Stands with Palestinian President Amidst Israel’s “Terrorist Aggression”

Solidarity in the Face of Conflict

On the 14th of November, the government of Nicaragua pronounced its unwavering support for the President of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), Mahmoud Abbas, as well as the Palestinian people as a whole. This declaration comes in light of what the Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo perceive as a “terrorist aggression” by the State of Israel.

Unrelenting Attacks on Palestinian Territory

According to official sources, the Nicaraguan Government has accused Israel of mercilessly attacking the Palestinian people. The ongoing violence in the Gaza Strip has reportedly resulted in the loss of more than 11,000 lives, with local authorities controlled by the Hamas movement citing numerous fatalities among innocent and defenseless civilians, including women and children.

A Message of Solidarity and Hope

In a poignant public letter, leaders Ortega and Murillo extended a “fraternal message of solidarity and hope” amidst these trying times. They called for unity with the international community to support the resilience of the Palestinian people amid the relentless aggression faced.

Commemorating Palestinian Independence

The Nicaraguan President and his wife also acknowledged the significance of the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Palestine. Authored by the renowned Palestinian national poet Mahmoud Darwish, it was first pronounced by Yasser Arafat on November 15, 1988, in Algiers. The move signified a brave and historic stand for the legitimate rights to freedom, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Palestine.

Commitment to Strong Bilateral Relations

Ortega and Murillo further reiterated Nicaragua’s commitment to reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood, solidarity, and cooperation with Palestine. They emphasized the unwavering resolve to fortify these relationships “today more than ever.”

The Fragmented Control over Palestinian Territories

Mahmoud Abbas presides over the Palestinian territories occupied in the West Bank, yet, over the years, has seen the Gaza Strip slip from the control of the PNA. The Gaza Strip currently lies under the political, administrative, and security dominion of the Hamas group.

Humanitarian Crisis Unfolding in Gaza

In a distressing development, it has been reported that approximately 200,000 Palestinians have been forced to flee northern Gaza over the past 10 days due to the intensifying clashes and instability in the region.

Global Outreach and Information Sharing

Nicaragua encourages all individuals to stay informed about such critical international developments and seeks to disseminate news through various communication channels, including Telegram and the Russian social network VK, given the restrictions on other platforms.

The above events signify a chapter in the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict, marking a call for international awareness and a plea for peace and stability in the region.
